Rehome | From One Loving Family to Another

This is what I have so far I hope I haven’t left anything out.

Hi, my name is Oreo! I’m approximately 5-7 years old. I’m a fun-loving Pointer mix who adores being outside, going on walks, hiking, and showing affection to my family.

I do well staying indoors as well and will enjoy cuddling up or just hanging out near you on the couch/bed. I can be a bit mischievous when left alone so it’s best to set me up in a kennel but I’m fully kennel trained (bonus points if you’re willing to give me a frozen apple slice or small treat before leaving once I’m in my kennel - yum!). I have never had an accident in the house, even if I’ve had to be in the kennel for long stretches of time occasionally. I would love to live with someone who works from home or is home a lot of the time as that is what I’m most familiar with!

My likes:
-Hanging out with you!
-Walks, hikes, running around outside, training, treats (very food motivated), laying in the sun, laying on the bed or couch with you
-Bird/squirrel watching and looking out windows
-I love to play! My favorite toys are squeaky toys, especially the stuffed lamb toy. I also like playing fetch and playing with ball toys, bonus if they squeak as well!
-I like going to the vet! The staff are always so friendly to me and they often will give me treats, so it’s always a great time and I’m amazing at letting them do what they need to do to keep me healthy.

Dislikes:
-Dog parks kind of make me anxious due to being around so many dogs but with some training, I could love them!
-Thunder is super scary so I love having a dark place like the closet to go to when it’s storming.
-Not a fan of other dogs or cats in the home but training could help with this as well. Currently around 3 indoor cats and we have our issues from time to time but I am okay being around them for the most part as long as they mostly keep their distance.
-I am unsure if I would like being around young children or not as I haven’t been around them to my current owners’ knowledge but I would love to be around older kids!
-I like my personal space so please don’t kiss me on the face too much, I much prefer to be the one to initiate face licks to show you affection.
-Nail trimming is hard for me as my nails are very thick, but I have found that I do best with a dremel nail trimmer while getting a piece of kibble every now and then to keep me happy during the process
