Laiko

Laiko is a gorgeous 5-year-old (estimated), 78-pound, Black and Tan, male German Shepherd who was saved from a high kill Los Angeles shelter. He's a distinguished gentleman with a kind soul. He made his way to NJ in October and is now looking for his loving, forever home. Laiko wants to be part of your family. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, microchipped, house broken, and crate trained. Laiko is initially on the serious side and prefers that you respect his boundaries when he first meets you. Once he trusts you, his loving, playful side comes out. If you get too close, you will get a kiss. He will roll over and allow you to give him belly rubs. He loves playing ball, but he does not like to give it back. He wants to be your new best friend. Anyone adopting Laiko should have large dog experience. He spent two weeks with the professional trainer, so he has had a good refresher on his training on basic commands and loose leash walking. He is hoping that his new owner will continue to work with him. He listens to corrections and is very treat motivated. He is good with people (once he trusts you), dogs and cats (cat neutral). Of course, proper introductions are always required with shepherds. Children are unknown so caution should be used. No small children for Laiko as they do not understand personal boundaries. No bite history. He is a very nice dog that will make someone very happy. A small rehoming fee is required.
