I am a 69-year-old woman with severe bilateral knee arthritis. I have 2 ten-year-old dogs. They are in excellent health, up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. They are sisters and were adopted together. I am recently divorced and am listing my house for sale. I will be moving to a small apartment. Because of my knees, my dogs do not get walked in public anymore. I have a large fenced in backyard where they go out 3 times daily. I will not be able to care for them in the same way when I move, which is very shortly. I am heartbroken over this but have no choice. I have reached out to all relatives and friends and have not been successful in finding anyone that is able to take either or both of them. I have been in touch with sanctuaries, shelters, etc. I have not been able to find anyplace that will take dogs over 8 years, other places are at full capacity.
