Dusty is a 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd. She is an extremely affectionate dog. Dusty is used to residing primarily indoors, but absolutely loves her backyard and her toys. She has a comical personality about her, and wants nothing more than to be loved on and played with. She is completely potty trained, crate trained, and has had two rounds of basic training. She walks well on a leash, and knows many commands. She is up to date on all of her vaccines, spayed, and current on flea and tick, and heartworm medication.
Dusty does suffer from stranger anxiety, and is slightly underweight due to her anxiety levels causing her to refuse food often. She is currently on two types of anxiety medication, which has helped her tremendously.
She is having to be rehomed due to her inability to safety reside with the other small dogs and cats within the home. She bit one of the smaller dogs after months of the smaller dog barking and snapping at her when she would pass by. A veterinarian behaviorist and a specialized trainer worked with the dogs to resolve their differences, but it was determined that due to the smaller dog refusing to grow past her dislike for Dusty it was unsafe to keep them all in the same home.
Dusty's behaviorist has determined that she will need to be in a home with no small dogs, small children, or cats. An older, extremely submissive male dog could be considered as a possible companion for her.
