We need to find a new, loving home for Mack. We love our Big Mack, and think someone else will too! We rescued him when he was living on the streets and malnourished, and have had a great 7 years with him!
He is affectionate, and protective. He loves being outside when it’s nice out and always enjoys having a toy in his mouth outside. He particularly enjoys a good game of tug-of-war, and often wins because he’s quite strong. He knows basic obedience commands, but can get distracted when upset or excited. Mack really loves a good belly rub, and he loves to eat too.
He gets excited by animals and people, but he doesn’t do well around other pets. However, we have three small children, and Mack does great with them (despite them always holding his ears or climbing on him).
We are rehoming Mack because, as he has grown older and we have added another child to our home, his protective nature has changed a bit, likely due to being overstimulated and not receiving enough attention. When he is startled (sees a dog on a walk when not expecting to, sees someone come to the door, etc.), he has started to get defensive towards those around him - barking more at our other dog or at us versus what is startling him. Mack would thrive in a house with no other pets, and with owners who have an outdoor area.
He is up-to-date on registration, vaccinations, and we give him preventative flea, tick and heart worm medicine monthly.
