The Mountain (Mountie)

Sweet tempered, docile boy looking for a quiet home where he can be the star of the show.

He loves to sit with me, and curl up against me. He can be vocal about wanting food or attention. In his current environment, he defers to the 3 other animals. He gets along with them, but definitely has anxiety about being ambushed (around food, and attention).

Mountie is a grazer. We can’t leave food for him constantly, because the others will eat it. Mountie has taken to angry peeing when he wants fed. He needs constant access to food, and he will thrive if he doesn’t feel that he has to compete for attention.

Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: We love him very much. It is just clear to us that over the past 9 months or so our home environment isn’t the best for him. Nothing has changed. We have the same dog, 2 cats, and kid that we had when we found him. But he has had an increasingly hard time, and we are about out of ideas for helping him. We hope a quieter situation, where he can have constant access to food will be a game changer for him. Please note that he is on a prescription food, and an extensive medical history. We have always managed his health with diet, and he is currently on prednilisone steroid.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?: Pet Behavior
Rehoming reason details (if necessary): He needs to have access to food all of the time (grazer). He angry pees if food is unavailable when he wants it. At the same time, he will abandon his food (or getting attention) if one of the other pets shows interest in it. We manage food really closely to try to keep him happy, but we can’t just leave it out. He has anxiety around resources, and I think he would be happy as an only pet.
How long will you be able to keep your pet before you may need to consider surrendering him or her to a rescue?: Two months
