Stella

Stella is a ball of energy who would LOVE an athletic owner/family. We believe she needs a home that can take her for long walks and/or runs, and keep her stimulated with fun toys and play. A home with a decently sized backyard would be ideal, but trips around the neighborhood or parks would be excellent for her too! She is potty and crate trained, and is working on her obedience skills (she's getting much better with "sit" - especially when treats are involved)!

Stella came into our lives after we lost two long-time companion dogs. When we adopted her, she was skin and bones. We later learned that her relatively low-key energy levels were due to her being sick in the shelter with parasites. After visiting the vet and getting her back to full health, she has gained a healthy amount of weight and her energy has returned in FULL strength. As senior retirees, we just cannot keep up with her needs, and are at risk of being injured by her when she wants to play or walk.

Our son (visiting from Austin) was able to take her for a run around the park and she did great! She gets a little distracted by birds and squirrels, and would likely do the same with other dogs, but she LOVES to run around and play. An ideal home would be a younger, athletic, patient dog-parent(s) who have the strength, time, and resources to help her exert her energy and continue her training.

Please consider bringing this beautiful, healthy girl into your lives.
