Sully

TL;DR: Rehoming a highly-trained (agility, trick dog) 3 yr. old Lab Retriever in Seattle, Washington due to energy and environment mismatch.

Sully is a very good boy, a gentleman, and an advanced athlete (Trick Dog and Agility)! He’s looking for his next adventure partner.

Sully is a 55 lb., 3 year old Labrador Retriever Mix (45% Lab Retriever, 16% American Pit Bull Terrier, 6% German Shepherd, 6% Golden Retriever, 5% Husky, 4% Weimaraner, 4% Border Collie, and more…).

Sully is currently living in Seattle, Washington. I adopted Sully from Hearts and Bones Rescue in New York City at age 1. We lived in NYC for 1.5 years before moving to Seattle in the Fall of 2022.

Sully is very active and high energy. He loves having a job and looks to his owner to understand when it’s time to play, walk, run, or rest. Sully is confident and social around other dogs.

Sully practically understands English and is a pro at training. He knows 30+ commands (all the basics like sit, lay, stay, place, recall, etc and lots of cool tricks) and has been awarded titles for his dedication (AKC Advanced Trick Dog and Canine Good Citizen). He also has a year of solid agility training and can use all standard equipment. He’s never been to an official agility trial, but all of his coaches say that he’s more than ready to take that step. Additionally, his off-leash recall is perfect. He’s a gentleman indoors. He has never counter-surfed, doesn’t get on furniture, never had an accident inside, never barks, is fine staying home when left alone, sleeps through the night, only plays on or chews with his toys,… the list goes on. He’s a very good and intelligent dog.

I’ve come to the difficult decision to rehome Sully because I am unable to keep up with his energy needs and I think he could do better with a family and a backyard. I’ve committed myself to him full time, which has paid off tremendously as he’s shown no bad behaviors whatsoever. Unfortunately, I’m unable to continue giving him the time he needs because of other competing personal needs of my own.

Sully’s ideal environment would be a home with a backyard for him to roam, smell, and explore. Even more exciting for him would be a place with multiple friends (more dogs and/or kids). In addition to a backyard and more family members, Sully would thrive with an owner that will continue his training and bring him along on adventures (agility, hiking, swimming, smelling the neighborhood).

Sully is allergic to chicken, beef, and lamb. He’s currently eating a vet-approved kibble from Royal Canine but has also done well on a few other brands.

Sully is up to date on all vaccines. I will be providing his existing supplies (beds, crates, toys, etc.). Interested adopters will need to be approved through Sully’s original rescue group (Hearts and Bones Rescue). The application and adoption fee will be waived since this is an out of state, home to home transfer. If you’re interested in learning more about Sully, please reach out! We’d love to connect.
