Here is what I know. Poppy came to us from Texas in January 2021. She is just over 5 years old.
The two major factors that are impeding her adoption are these:
Poppy has had two incident reports ( that were filed) , she has bitten others but no reports were filed. Those incidents not filed were her typical "warning nips". Which typically happens to anyone she does not know. She is now on designated handlers because of the biting which has escalated within the 6 months or so.
She was adopted into a home with a single woman and her dog. The woman came out numerous times and stayed for hours to befriend Poppy and gain her trust. Once that was established, her dog and poppy were introduced and no promlems were noted at that time. However, once in the home with the adopter, after a few weeks I believe, Poppy attacked her dog and it needed medical attention by the vet. Poppy was returned to the shelter.
