Winston is a Treeing Walker Coonhound who was rescued in Oct. 2020. He is 4 years old and is a goofy, funny, loving dog who will greet you with tail wags and a coonhound hug. As great of a dog as he is, he is all hound which means he needs space to run and a job to do. He was bred for hunting and chasing so a fenced-in yard or a rural setting would be ideal. These are things that we are unable to provide for him. He loves playing with other dogs and currently attends Doggy Day Camp twice a week. He would do well with other dogs in the home but no cats. He does need some continued training with his leash-walking and indoor manners (counter-surfing, jumping up on people, etc.) but he is food-motivated and scented high-value treats are some of his favorites. If you have experience with hounds or have previous dog training experience then he would be a great match for you. He is loyal to his family and would be a great companion for the right person and the right setting.

Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?:
Incompatible with Other Pets
Rehoming reason details (if necessary):
Winston needs more consistent training than we are able to give. He would not be good in a house with young kids because you would have difficulty splitting your time between your kids and managing the dog's behavior. He is chasing and pouncing on our aging cat (13 years old) and we are very concerned that he might hurt him.
