With broken, hopeful hearts, we are looking to rehome our dog, Arlo. We rescued him as a pup and have loved having him in our family for almost 7 years. He's loving, playful, and easy going, with a few challenges.
Last March, Arlo uncharacteristically bit our toddler (the first and only time he's bitten anyone). She stumble-chased him into a corner and scared him enough to incite the very unfortunate “stay back” reaction. It was the worst day, for all the reasons. We've been able to keep Arlo since then, but with another baby on the way, it's soon to be more than we can handle, and it's not fair to Arlo to be separated/confined that much.
A healthy, neutered, low-riding herding breed mystery-mix weighing around 40 pounds, Arlo is such a good boy in so many ways. He's a delight to have around. Such a happy and laid back companion who truly doesn't require much from his humans. He doesn't need much exercise, and would do fine with someone working full-time outside the home.
Arlo doesn't get along with most dogs or cats and does deal with leash aggression on walks, and obviously he shouldn't be around young children. He doesn't need a uniquely trained or experienced owner, just someone to be attentive and employ some distraction techniques on walks.
Aside from that, he could thrive anywhere. Every Rover who ever welcomed him into their home has adored him. We know he can be a wonderful addition to a new household.
