Margo

We are in need of a new home for our sweet dog, Margo. We adopted Margo in September 2023 and its looking like it is not a good fit for our family. Margo is very sweet, but is more timid around new people. She's very affectionate and sweet with those she knows. The reason we are rehoming her is she is very anxious around our toddler. He's just too much chaos and action for her. For her happiness and our son's safety we feel it would be best to find her another home.

Pet's Name: Margo

Has your dog received any formal obedience training?: No
What commands does your dog know?: Sit
Has your dog ever displayed any behavioral issues, such as biting another person or pet? If so, can you please provide details on what happened?: On two occasions, she has snapped at our toddler. She did not bite, but that's the reason for the re-homing. She needs a home without young children because she seems fearful and anxious around them.
How does your dog react to being left alone for short periods?: She does fine with alone time. She's a very easy, quiet dog.
Are there any specific triggers that cause your dog anxiety or stress?: Small children
Is there a particular routine that works best for your dog in terms of feeding, walking, and sleep?: We go on a walk in the morning around the neighborhood, which she loves. She sleeps in our older daughter's room.
Medical History and Care:
Vaccinations up to date
Spayed or Neutered

Does your pet have any history of health issues or medical conditions that potential adopters should be aware of?: Margo has a rectal lump that has been examined by the vet. It does not cause her pain and she doesn't have any issues going to the bathroom. The vet said she cannot say whether or not it's cancerous, it would require removal and biopsy to know for sure. Since it does not seem to bother her and we have to rehome her anyway, we've elected to not pay for an expensive removal just to know for certain since it does not cause her any issues at this point.

What's the most endearing thing about your dog?: She is such a wonderful, sweet dog and she's the easiest dog we've ever had. She loves to lay on the couch with us and snuggle, belly rubs, exploring the backyard, and walks. I understand that because she can't go to a home with young kids and because of her lump it will limit the number of people willing to consider her, but I'm hopeful someone will take a chance on her because she really is a sweet, wonderful dog. She deserves a lot of love.
What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: Margo would do best in a quieter home without young kids.
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: If you are willing to take a chance on her, you wouldn't regret it, she is a wonderful companion. I wish she would work for our home, because we love her, she's just not fond our our little one.
