Delbert is a lovable dog. For 95% of the time, he's a cuddly, playful, well-trained, low-maintenance, docile creature who wants to rub up on you, nap, or play fetch.
He's potty-trained, leash-trained, and knows how to sit, stay, fetch, and roll over on command. He's fine to spend time alone while his owners work during the day. He sleeps through the night. He's good with cats.
He loves his daily walks and an occasional run, but doesn't need to burn off a ton of energy. He's four years old. His MO is to lie at your feet or cuddle in bed. He loves treats.
Delbert is also dealing with trauma. When he gets scared, he reacts with aggression. He needs slow, closely observed introductions to new people. His ideal home would not involve many strangers. If he fears a new person or dog, he might bark and lunge at them, so he should be muzzled on walks.
Delbert will exude love, so long as he feels safe.
