Baby

Baby is a pretty princess who desires to be the only pet in a household. She is terrified of dogs, and has not been thriving with our other two cats (male, fixed). She has chosen me to be her person, over my husband, she definitely has a feminine energy. She's all fluff, very lightweight when picked up, although she does not want to be picked up or held. Loves being petted for as long as she wants. Has a sweet little demanding meow when she wants your attention. I haven't gotten her to sit on my lap and lay with me, but again she's been very on edge in my home due to the other cats. I think if she felt totally comfortable and safe in an environment, she would be be open to laying on a lap for pets.

We got her in October 2023, after my aunt passed. She has taken a while to really warm up in our house, likely because of the other cats. When we got her and took her to the vet, we found out she had resorption of her teeth (significant decay) and we paid for her surgery to get the teeth removed (roughly $1200). Her attitude overall improved greatly after this, she was more exploratory in the house and social around us. She explores around more when she knows the other cats are off napping elsewhere. She didn't seem to know even how to play when we got her. And she's gotten more playful with me as the months have gone on. Loves batting at mice toys and crinkly toys, intrigued with a laser pointer. She'll even scratch at the scratch pads, despite having her front paws declawed (not our doing, or my aunt's, likely done when she was a kitten). I wish I could give her claws back, but at least she can't destroy the furniture.

She's begun territorially using the bathroom on the carpet in the same spot because I think she's unhappy with the boy cat smells in all the litter boxes, despite them being cleaned out daily. Our boy cats have bullied her, causing a few scratches on her nose and face that make her look just so sad. I want her to have a home where she doesn't feel so stressed, anxious, and on edge. She truly needs to be the only pet in the house.
