Kage

Kage is approx three to four years old. I saw a post for him on facebook saying that if he didn't get adopted he was going to be put down. I asked about any behavioral issues and i was told no. he was originally picked up in rogers by the bella vista animal shelter. First all the good things about Kage: he loves to cuddle. If your booty is on something, his booty is on you. He is loyal and protective and sweet. He loves a good nap but he also loves a long walk. This dog loves car rides than he loves anything but no matter how far down the window is rolled he only sticks the tip of his nose out. He will talk back if he thinks he can win, very full of personality and spunk. He looks at everyone so curiously, and prances around making the tips of his ears bounce. The negative aspects: he is people and animal reactive, and very strong. He has bit me before, after I ignored his warning signals. He has also nipped as someone has tried to pull him out of his safe space when he was anxious. He has his boundaries and he makes them clear. His warnings include his scruff going up and then teeth baring before escalating. It has only been two instances in two years. When on leash he will pull to get to things and he is very strong. after some health issues he drags me and i can not control him. He loves to go trash digging so i reccomend a lidded trash can, and is obsessed with dirty tissues. Also after trying for years to condition him to his nails being trimmed that is a hard boundary and no for him. He would have to do sedated to do his nails, he has given himself a panic attack when we have held him down to do them, With all that said i think he can be a great dog for someone who has more time and understanding of dogs with complex trauma and fear issues. Also someone slightly stronger.
