Oddball

Hello, my name is Oddball, my people sometimes call me “Oddie” like in the movie. My grandma got me when I was 13 weeks old and now, I’m almost 2. My dad was a Great Pyrenees with badger (Blaireau) marks of tan, white and grey (I look like him with the markings and I’m very handsome) and my mom was also a Great Pyrenees with the same color but with a mix of German Shepherd so I’m told.

I came in November 2022 and it was cold and a lot of snow, so I was potty trained quickly and kennel trained where I sometime go to decompress when the house gets a little loud or I just want my own space, and I remained a “house” pup. I love to lounge with my teen boy humans and play with my squeaky toys and chew on my bones. I know all basic commands even if I do not listen right away because that is “my way” and if you entice me with a treat I will listen sooner. My humans say I need a little more training on understanding when our visitors are strangers be ware or friendly to be with my family. Also, I will take advantage if there's food on the counter, but I’ve still got some weight to put on so who can blame me! I know how not to but the temptation is there….
My grandpa takes me for walks (because I’m leashed trained too) when my humans are at school and work. I am up to date on my vaccinations and was neutered in January 2024 (not sure why that happened)! I was 80 pounds in January but I’ve put on a little weight since then. I really love spending time with my cousin who is a “Great Dane” and her sister cat. I also live with a brother cat and we play on the stairs up and down chasing each other. When we get tired, we take a nap together on mom’s bed. I am very Affectionate, Playful, Smart, Brave, Curious, Funny, and Independent. I am also very Protective of my humans and our homes. I am a little vocal despite having a more laid-back personality when I am ready to go out but my expressive talking and sassy side-eye constantly make my humans laugh. I love car rides and going to the bank, they give treats and the drive-up pharmacy where grandma gets pills and sometimes, we get to go to McDonalds and I get “fries”. Also, we get to go to the doggie park.
We all live on 40 acres and sometimes I get to run and see our goat and sheep and if I can get away from mom, I will run to my cousin’s house or my grandparents’ house to make sure they are all ok (they are my herd and it’s my job) but never to the rode.

I think my perfect family would be with a brother or sister like me and I do not mind the cats. I love my teenage boy humans and always watch the kids play at the park but have never lived with younger kids. I will be a little bigger as I get older so I would not want to hurt the younger ones by accident. I love my family now but it is not possible to stay here. It would be good if my new family is familiar with my breed. I would love to be trained to watch your sheep and goats as well since my ancestors were so good at it.
