Hank “Pookie”
Hank is a sweet boy. I love him dearly, and he was well trained up until about a year and a half ago. My living situation changed drastically, and he went from having two owners to one, a yard to living in a studio apartment. I lost my car, I’m financially unstable, and I am generally just depressed. I am finding myself unable to give him the attention he needs, and it is bringing me a lot of guilt. It’s very obvious he has lost respect for me as pack leader, and I just don’t have the motivation or money to care for him properly. Pit bulls need lots of stimulation and play time. He knows lots of tricks, and he is cuddly, and never has hurt another animal. But he needs someone with a loving family and a yard who can stimulate him and give him space to run around, and come plop down with a human anytime. He loves people, especially children. That being said he has reversed on some of the training I was once so proud of with him. Like walks, he is reactive with other dogs walking by and it can be stressful. He didn’t used to be like this but like I said my decline in the past year and a half has surly contributed to his respect for our team work and I am really struggling to retrain him in the way I did early on. So it’s all there, he just needs a better leader than myself right now. It breaks my heart because he is 5 going on 6, and I’ve had him since an itty bitty puppy but at this point I am holding him back from a better life
