Bear

Rehoming our adorable Maltipom

Name: Bear | Breed: Maltipom | Age: 9 years old | Birthday: September 2015 | Weight: 12lbs
Spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, licensed locally and in excellent health.

Sweet, loving, utterly adorable Maltese/Pomeranian with a quirky, playful and adventurous spirit. She enjoys frolicking in nature but snuggling on the couch and getting belly rubs is her absolute happy place! Would do well as an indoor pet as she prefers being inside and close to her people. Truly such a Lover!

Bear’s previous owner got her as a puppy and, unfortunately, did not put enough emphasis on training. However she has proven to be very trainable! With little effort we’ve trained her to have good recall, stay close off-leash, behave well on leash, to sit, come, stay, “drop it” and have made huge progress with potty training, however she is not yet fully potty-trained. Fortunately Bear is smart and eager to please so with consistency she’d be fully trained in no time. She is crate-trained and very food-oriented, making treat-training extremely effective.

She can be protective of her self and, on rare occasion, even a bit snappy. In the past she's had negative experiences with children and therefore has the potential to get snippy with them. Although she is not a threat, her defensiveness/reactivity towards kiddos could cause them alarm and therefore must be minded. Probably best she doesn’t live with small children. On the flip side, she’s an excellent alert dog; highly in tune to her environment, she will alert you of any activity in- or outside the home. She can however bark excessively. To combat this we’ve been training her with a bark-collar, which will be passed along to her new family.

Bear is a wonderful pet; very loyal, loving, protective, a great lapdog, and an even better companion! Our family just doesn’t have adequate time to provide the attention she needs and deserves. We love her dearly and are dedicated to finding the right home so if you think you’re a good match for beloved Bear dog please reach out to discuss and/or arrange a time to meet. Thank you!

Kind Regards,
Katrina
