Looking for Louie's Forever Home
We are seeking a new home for our loving, 4-year old, bulldog/pitbull mix: Louie! We are welcoming a new baby into the home and unfortunately cannot maintain the environment best for her.
We adopted Louie about 4 years ago from a woman who initially rescued her from a neglectful owner. We are not entirely sure of her backstory but to our knowledge, she was neglected, left in a crate for too long, and not well-socialized.
Louie is a sweet, loving, attentive dog, who likes to spend her time napping right by our feet. She is happiest right next to us or going on walks in the neighborhood. She will immediately rollover to her back wanting tummy scratches when you bend down to cuddle with her. She also loves our parents home in North Raleigh and also enjoys both the trainers and other dogs at Camp Bow Wow in the larger, group setting.
We have come to this tough decision because Louie does show signs of intense separation anxiety and fear, and doesn't do well with new people, environments, or other dogs when leashed. She is protective of our home, and will bark with new guests in home, out of fear, rather than aggression. We have not taken Louie in social settings (brewery, outdoor venues, public dog parks) to avoid putting her in anxious, stressful situations.
We strongly believe Louie will have a joyful and fulfilling life in the right home. She LOVES the people she is comfortable around and is always the favorite at the vet or Camp Bow Wow. We believe Louie would do best with a couple or single, experienced owner who mostly stays at home or does not frequently have social gatherings but is rather looking for deep companionship. We believe somebody whose lifestyle helps manage her anxiety would be ideal.
