Kita

Kita is a 1 yr old female Siberian husky mix. I took her in a few months ago, she has lived outside up until recently. She was not worked with or socialized and lived with a bunch of other female dogs where she was kind of at the bottom of the pecking order. She was very timid and afraid when I first brought her home. After taking her from the pen of multiple dogs and put her with a few of mine she did have a strong bossy personality as if to reestablish herself to make sure she was not to be picked on anymore. She does great with my neutral calm old dogs, I introduced her to a couple her age or a little younger and she was very dominant and too bossy by putting a female her age on her back uncalled for so I keep her apart. She did the same with a 6 month old male. There was no fight as the two were submissive. Just want you aware. She likes to play with the neutral adults. She did resource guard the one toy I tried to give so that was a no go unless she is crated and can enjoy it in her own space. For a dog that has lived outside she does great in her crate at night and hasn't had an accident at all in the crate. Kita is not spayed yet. That was on my to do list but I really need to move. She has had her first heat already so she can be spayed at any time. I will even pay for part of it to your vet or set you up an appointment with the Maine animal health alliance. She will make someone a great playful companion. She takes a little bit to come out of her shell but now that she has with me she is playful, excited and loves her chest scratches.
