Urgent: Foster or Forever Home Needed for Harvey
We are urgently seeking a foster or forever home for Harvey, a 91 lbs one-year-old pointer mix. Harvey was left in our care by a friend who is now unable to take him back. As we are unable to care for him long-term, we've contacted local humane societies and shelters which unfortunately are at full capacity, and we need to find a solution before our out-of-state travel plans for New Year's.
Harvey is extremely social, playful, and energetic. Despite his large size, he is very affectionate and gentle-natured. He loves attention and has grown up around other dogs. While we are unsure of his behavior around cats or kids, he is crate-trained, house-broken, and is good on car rides. Harvey would thrive with a family who is active/adventurous or has plenty of space for him to run and play. Though he knows basic commands and is obedient, he would benefit from a family who has had previous experience with dogs as he still requires some formal leash-training.
Includes his crate, dog food, and favorite toys. If fostering, it would be until the shelters have enough room to accept him as we do not have the time-commitment or space necessary to fully meet his needs. Our primary goal is to find a loving home for this sweet boy as soon as possible. If you are interested in fostering and/or adopting Harvey, please reach out. We are willing to drive to your location within a 25-mile radius from Birmingham, AL.
Thank you for helping us find Harvey his fur-ever home!
