Last summer I visited my dad in WV and met his VERY pregnant dog, Myrtle. He told me this was her third litter & she was only 4yrs old. She kept getting pregnant by his other dog & had no intentions of having either dog fixed due to the cost. Seeing that Myrtle was trapped in a pattern at his house, I offered to take her back to NC, despite knowing she may not get along with my other dog. Myrtle had her third litter (of 8 puppies!), I decided to keep one, and the rest all found homes. Everything was fine with the dogs until Hurricane Helene hit, and when it did, my dog & Myrtle started to get into fights. Every day I had to break them up. My temporary solution has been to let the dogs take turns being in a bedroom/living room/outside on rotation. But this is no way for these dogs to live permanently. I'm looking to find Myrtle her forever home, having her spayed in a few days, and trying to avoid taking her back to WV. I truly love Myrtle and want the best for her - & that's not here.
