How does your dog react to being left alone for short periods?: When alone will bark or whine. If in crate he will stand the entire time he is left and be unable to relax. Otherwise, he is fine in his crate. If put in his crate when people are home he will lay down and relax and not make a sound. If left in a room rather than crate he will bark at the door and scratch at the floor.

Is there a particular routine that works best for your dog in terms of feeding, walking, and sleep?: Scout is very easy going in every other regard. I feed him twice a day. He is fine with short walks or quick bathroom breaks and then maybe one longer walk or trip to the park.

How is your dog with other dogs?: Very friendly: Loves meeting and playing with other dogs.

How is your dog with cats?: Neutral: Doesn't mind cats but doesn't interact much with them.

What's the most endearing thing about your dog?: He is very affectionate. My 7 year old daughter says that he gives hugs. He seems to love everyone he meets- human or canine.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: I would love for him to have a forever family that can give him the attention he needs such as a family that works from home, has more members in it or a retired person that has more ability to devote time to working with him on the separation anxiety.
