Calvin

Meet Calvin, a chunky, cheerful two-and-a-half-year-old French Bulldog from Lakeside, CA, whose big personality is wrapped in a compact, 45-pound frame! With a handsome brown coat and dark facial features, Calvin is a spirited little guy, brimming with love, curiosity, and a zest for life! He's ready to show his unique charm to his next loving family.

Calvin recently became deaf after undergoing a major surgery (TECA) in December to remove his ear canals due to chronic ear infections. Despite this, he’s recovered remarkably well and is healthy and eager to explore the world in his own special way. His new hearing status hasn’t slowed him down one bit—he’s still the same playful, affectionate pup who loves walks on a leash, spirited games of fetch, tug-of-war, and, of course, belly rubs! He’s crate-trained and enjoys cozy naps in his crate after a fun-filled day.

Calvin thrives on routine and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement, especially when treats are involved—he’s very food motivated! He knows commands like sit, stay, down, come, and look at me, and he’s been doing great with his current trainer. The trainer is even offering to continue working with his new family free of charge to help Calvin transition smoothly and build on his progress. He's also neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and house-trained!

While Calvin is sweet and affectionate, he’s adjusting to life without his hearing, which means he can be startled in certain situations. In a moment of confusion, he did have an incident where he bit an elderly family member, causing a minor skin break. However, he’s never shown aggression toward children or others in his home.

Calvin’s ideal family will be patient, understanding, and committed to helping him feel secure as he navigates his new world. In return, he’ll offer endless cuddles, joyful greetings, and loyal companionship! Are you ready to give this handsome boy his next loving, stable home?
