It is with a heavy heart that I post this. We are looking for a loving family to rehome our dog to. This is beautiful Winnie, she is a 2.5-3 year old German Shepard/ Dauchand Mix. We adopted her from a rescue organization in Mexico. She came to us simply bones and was terrified of people, and in the year and a half that we have had her, she has grown to a healthy weight, loves people and loves being loved. When we adopted her, we were told she was great with children, we have a 4 year-old, so this was very important for us. In the year plus that we have had her, we have tried our best to acclimate her to our home and dogs, and while she has made leaps and bounds, she does not enjoy small children playing with her (understandable). It has now gotten to the point that when my daughter plays with our other dogs and Winnie wants to be included, our daughter plays in the same fashion, and Winnie reacts out of fear and stress. It has become stressful and scary as a parent that Winnie will go beyond nipping but bite and do damage one day. Our home has shifted to keep the peace with Winnie and hold back our daughter from being a natural 4-year-old. We have made the difficult decision to rehome our sweet dog as this is not the right home for her. Winnie LOVES being next to you, getting pets, following you around, and taking your socks or slippers. Winnie would do great with a home that has a smaller backyard with grass as she gets nervous going to the bathroom without you there, she is not much of an explorer unless you are with her. She would do great with teenagers or older children. She also would thrive in a home with women! She gets nervous with sudden rushed movements like people coming quickly in and out of the house. She is the sweetest blessing and I pray this post finds her the perfect home. Please direct message me for more information! Thank you!
