Tyson

Meet Tyson, a loving and loyal six-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix from Oklahoma City, OK, whose heart is as big as his personality. This black-and-white cuddle bug has never met a stranger—he will instantly want to be your best friend, soaking up every bit of attention you give him. Whether he’s following you around, curling up in your lap, or gazing at you with his soulful eyes, Tyson’s devotion is unmatched.

Playful, goofy, and incredibly smart, Tyson knows basic commands like sit, lay, and shake. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and eager to please. He loves fetch, especially with sticks and ropes, and enjoys going on walks, taking in all the new scents. While he can be strong on a leash, a no-pull harness (which will be provided to his new guardian) helps him walk comfortably. Despite his rough past, Tyson still enjoys car rides and will happily tag along for an adventure.

Tyson’s journey hasn’t been easy—he was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and scars that suggest he was used in dog fighting before being thrown from a moving car. But despite everything he’s endured, he still loves people unconditionally. He’s affectionate, trusting, and full of love, proving that his past does not define him.

However, Tyson needs a home that understands trauma in dogs. While he has bonded with multiple family members' dogs through slow introductions, he is dog-selective and does not do well at dog parks or meeting unfamiliar dogs on walks. He may thrive as the only pet, but he has also successfully lived in a multi-dog home with patience and supervision. Tyson is, however, wonderful with cats—he loves being around them and plays nicely.

Tyson is the ultimate cuddle companion. He will want to be by your side at all times and snuggle up with you every night. No amount of attention or pets will ever be enough for Tyson, and he will return every bit of love you give him tenfold!

He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. While he could benefit from additional training, what he truly needs is a guardian with patience, time, and understanding. A small rehoming fee will apply to ensure he goes to a committed home, with all proceeds donated to a local rescue to help other dogs like Tyson.

If you’re looking for a deeply affectionate, devoted companion who will love you unconditionally, Tyson might be the perfect match. Could you be the one to provide his next safe, loving home? Reach out today to learn more!
