Drako

Drako is my boyfriend and his sister dog, they have given me permission to post him up for rehoming since they didn’t have the heart to and they thought it would be easier for them to just let me handle this process. Drako is a 50 pound male dog that is a Doberman pincher mix. We had gotten him in August 2023 from a friend of there who dog had gotten pregnant from a stray dog but there was multiple male dogs around her due to where they lived so we don’t know specifically what type of dog breed he is but the vet determined he has some Doberman in him.

Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: Meet Drako, a lively 1 year old Doberman Pinscher mix from Escondido, CA, whose essence is a whirlwind of youthful energy wrapped in a sleek two-tone brown coat and an eager heart! Drako is still very much in his puppy stage, full of bounce, curiosity, and charm. He's growing into his strong, athletic frame, and is built for adventure—fetch, tug-of-war, hiking trails, and spirited games of chase are all on his list of favorite things! And let’s not forget his deep love for squeaky toys, tennis balls, and, well… socks, shoes, and hats (he thinks they’re fair game!). If it smells like you, Drako loves it. He knows a few fun commands like “sit,” “paw,” and even “high five,” and while he hasn’t had formal obedience training, his smart, stubborn streak just needs a patient hand and positive reinforcement to help guide him. Drako thrives in open spaces, and he needs a fenced yard where he can burn off steam and just be his goofy, zoomie-loving self! This sweet, vocal guy is shy around new people and selective with dogs, especially big ones, but once he warms up, his loyalty and affection shine through. He’s sensitive to loud or aggressive interactions—whether it’s a real argument or just roughhousing—and does best in calm, structured environments. Because fast movement and noise can overwhelm him, a home without young kids would be the most comfortable fit for him. Drako’s also known to guard his food, so mealtimes in a quiet, private space work best. He’s microchipped, fully vaccinated, and enjoys a weekly bath, even if he's not too keen on tooth brushing. Left alone for short periods, he’s fine, but his ideal day includes belly rubs, fresh air, and someone to share his silly side with! Reach out today and let Drako know his next adventure might just be waiting for him with you.
