Guava

Meet Guava, a loving, young American Staffordshire Terrier from McKinney, TX, whose heart is just as big as her beautiful white-and-brown-spotted coat. Weighing in at about 46 pounds, Guava is a medium-sized bundle of affection and energy who’s ready to bring endless snuggles and sweet companionship to her next family!

Guava is the kind of pup who doesn’t just want to be near you—she wants to be with you, wherever you go. Whether you're working from home, relaxing in the yard, or just walking from room to room, she’s your shadow, always curious and eager to be involved! She thrives on love, touch, and attention, and there's nothing she enjoys more than a good cuddle session.

While she knows a couple of basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” her excitement sometimes gets the better of her focus—so continued training through positive reinforcement will help her channel all that energy into even more good behavior. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and follows a simple daily routine of breakfast, playtime in the yard, midday breaks, and evening walks after dinner. Guava’s a high-energy girl, so a fenced yard is a must—she needs room to run and play to her heart's content!

Though she gets along wonderfully with her current male dog and cat companions, she hasn’t had success with female animals and would do best as the only pet in the home. That way, she can soak up all the affection and one-on-one time! Guava also shows signs of being sensitive—if voices are raised, she tends to cower and roll over, revealing a soft and gentle spirit that just needs kindness and patience.

Because of her clingy nature and separation anxiety, Guava would do best with someone who works from home or can spend most of the day with her. She’s not just looking for a home—she’s looking for a best friend, someone who will love her deeply and give her consistent companionship.
