Tinker

Meet Tinker, a resilient and wildly curious nine-year-old Lynx-mix beauty from Asheville, NC, with a long, luxurious gray tabby coat and a heart full of spark. Tinker is not only a Hurricane Helene survivor — she’s a true tinkerer at heart, a furry little sidekick who lives for tools, workshops, and the joy of watching her favorite human build and create.

Weighing in at just 7 pounds, Tinker may be petite in size, but she’s big on personality. She’s currently in need of a short-term foster home — ideally for at least four weeks — while her loving caregiver undergoes critical ankle surgery. This isn’t just about giving a cat a place to stay — it’s about offering a safe space for a bright, sensitive soul to land while her person regains stability.

Tinker is a one-of-a-kind companion. She’s endlessly curious and thrives in spaces where she can roam, explore, and keep an eye on the action. If you’re someone who tinkers with tools, builds furniture, or fixes things for fun, prepare to have the most adorable assistant ever! She’s known to perch quietly nearby, watching with interest until she feels comfortable enough to engage. And once that bond forms? Expect peek-a-boo games, bird-chattering commentary from the window, and the occasional toy dropped in her water bowl — just to keep you on your toes!

She’s affectionate, vocal, and interactive with the humans she trusts, and she does well with dogs. However, she’s not a fan of other cats and prefers to rule her space solo. She is fully litter-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Tinker does have idiopathic hypercalcemia, which is managed easily with two medications and a special raw diet her foster family would need to continue.

She’s looking for a calm, free-range indoor space where she can stretch her legs, watch the world go by, and feel secure. If you’ve got a heart for a quirky explorer with a resilient spirit — and maybe even a workshop or sunny window ledge — she’s got a paw to offer in return.

Can you open your home to Tinker while her caregiver heals?
