Kodak

Meet Kodak, a spirited five-year-old Chow Chow from Lombard, IL, whose striking black coat and lion-like mane are only matched by his big, loyal heart and boundless energy!

Kodak is the kind of dog who thrives in a home where adventure and affection go hand in paw. At around 55 pounds, this fluff-covered bundle of energy is built for both cuddles and cardio. He’s a high-energy guy who truly shines when he’s had a good run, a romp in the yard, or a brisk walk with his favorite humans. A fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and burn off some of that Chow-powered energy would be a dream come true.

Kodak knows a couple of key commands like “sit” and “stay,” and while he hasn’t had formal obedience training, his eager-to-please nature gives him great potential with positive reinforcement and consistency. He’s house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccinations—healthy, happy, and ready to go!

This guy is friendly with other dogs and great with young children, making him a wonderful match for an active family who enjoys being outdoors or simply wants a dog who brings a little excitement into the day! While he hasn’t spent much time around cats, his interactions with other pups have been positive and playful.

Kodak does experience some mild anxiety, especially when his need for activity isn’t met. But with a regular exercise routine and some stimulating playtime, he’s calm, content, and ready to settle in for a nap near his people. He’s deeply family-oriented and bonds strongly with those who show him love and structure. And with that majestic coat, he’ll draw admiring glances everywhere he goes—though luckily, he only requires grooming a couple times a year!

Are you ready to welcome a devoted, energetic, and joyful companion into your home—someone who will be your walking buddy, backyard explorer, and furry best friend?
