Chase

Meet Chase, a bouncy nine-month-old Labrador Retriever from Harker Heights, TX, whose black-and-white coat shines just as brightly as his affectionate heart!

Chase is young and still very much a playful pup at heart—even if he’s already growing into his sturdy medium frame, expected to top out around 50 pounds. He’s all wiggles, wags, and wide-eyed wonder, especially when a good game of fetch, a chew toy, or a running buddy is involved! This boy is pure energy on four paws—with a soft spot for snuggles when it’s time to wind down.

Chase is a very loving companion who thrives on being close to his person, especially when he’s allowed to cuddle up and show off just how sweet he can be. He’s crate trained and house-trained, and while he hasn’t had formal obedience training yet, he already responds to “sit,” “lay down,” and is working hard on “stay.” With continued positive reinforcement, this smart cookie has the potential to learn so much more.

Due to a rough start in life, Chase can sometimes be reactive or uncertain, especially around unfamiliar people and situations. He tends to flinch around men and has exhibited some mouthy behavior that seems to come from insecurity rather than aggression. He may need a bit of patience and some behavior modification support from a gentle and understanding caregiver, preferably someone with experience or willingness to learn. Once he feels safe, he blossoms into a goofy cuddlebug who simply wants to belong.

Chase does best with a predictable routine and since he hasn’t had much experience with other dogs or cats yet, so slow introductions in a calm setting would be ideal. He's neutered, vaccinated, and ready to settle into his next loving home!

Are you the kind soul ready to help this beautiful pup continue growing into the confident and loyal companion he’s meant to be?
