Veda

Meet Veda, a tender-hearted one-year-old Shepherd mix from Achille, OK, who’s as soulful as she is snuggly, wrapped in a warm brown coat and weighing in at around 45 pounds of cautious, cuddly charm.

Veda’s story began with a rescue mission straight from the heart—her life was saved by a determined daughter who couldn’t bear to let this sweet girl be left behind. Since then, Veda has been learning to trust, slowly but surely, and she's blossoming into a gentle companion for the right family—especially if you're a woman with a quiet home and a soft spot for underdogs.

Veda is a true velcro pup when she bonds—she loves to follow her chosen person around the house, curl up for naps, and settle in for couch cuddles. She enjoys playing with other dogs, especially those who respect her space and don’t mind when she claims her favorite human for snuggle time. While she's not aggressive, she prefers to be your one-and-only in close quarters, occasionally stepping between her human and another dog to say, “Hey, this one’s mine!”

Her ideal day includes morning and evening meals, a little backyard exploring (a fenced yard is a must!), and lounging on the couch. She’s crate-trained and even likes her crate, though she’s rarely been left in it—being near her person is what soothes her most. Veda experiences some separation anxiety, and she's been known to chew on furniture when alone, so a patient caregiver who can help her through that would be her hero.

Men and young children tend to make her nervous, though she’s developed a sweet bond with an eight-year-old grandson—proof that, with time and trust, her heart is open. Veda hasn’t met any cats or farm animals yet, but she absolutely adores water and will happily hop in the tub if you let her. She's already house-trained and will be spayed and vaccinated before finding her new home.

Are you the next kind, patient soul who can offer Veda the love-filled environment she needs to continue healing and thriving? Reach out today—this timid sweetheart is ready to steal your heart, one gentle cuddle at a time!
