Flint

Meet Flint, a spirited and affectionate three-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd from Duluth, GA, whose bold heart and deep devotion are matched only by his love for a good tug-of-war session and cozy snuggles on the couch.

Flint is a stunning brown-and-black boy with a strong, athletic build, weighing in at around 75 pounds. He came into his current family’s life as a rescue so his early history remains a mystery. But since his adoption, he’s made great strides—he’s fully house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. He’s even completed treatment for heartworm and has been cleared for full activity again!

Energetic and playful, Flint is always ready for a game, a run, or simply sticking close by your side! He thrives on attention and loves being part of the action, whether it’s an adventure in the backyard or a nap at your feet. He knows basic commands like “sit” and “wait,” and while he still needs some work on manners and socialization, he’s eager to please and would benefit from positive reinforcement and continued training with a confident, experienced caregiver.

Flint’s ideal home is one without cats—he has a strong prey drive and has shown consistent aggression toward them, making feline housemates a definite no-go. He can also be selective with other dogs and is cautious around strangers, so a calm environment with clear boundaries and someone who understands the loyalty and sensitivity of shepherd breeds would be a great fit.

He does well when left alone for short periods, though he may do a little counter grazing if snacks are left in reach (he’s clever like that!). Storms can make him uneasy, so a cozy crate or safe space to retreat to is appreciated when the thunder rolls in.

But once he feels safe, Flint transforms into an absolute cuddlebug! He’s incredibly loving, sweet-natured, and just wants someone to bond with—someone who will be his safe place in return.
