Lexi

Meet Lexi, a cuddly five-year-old Papillon/Chihuahua mix from Cleveland, OH, whose heart is as big as her ears and whose favorite place in the world is right in your lap!

Lexi is still full of playful energy, quirky charm, and endless snuggles. Weighing in at a petite 8 pounds, she’s the perfect size for cozying up under a blanket or accompanying you on a car ride—two of her very favorite things!

Lexi’s soft brown, white, and black coat is short and sweet, just like her. She’s spayed, house-trained, up to date on all her vaccinations, and crate-trained for nighttime snoozes! She shares her current home with two feline friends, whom she gets along with quite well. In fact, Lexi’s happy to romp with cats or curl up with them in a sunny patch for an afternoon nap.

This small but spunky girl has a whole vocabulary of commands under her belt! She knows “place,” “sit,” “sit pretty,” “come,” “heel,” “off,” “hurry up,” “all done,” “up,” and “stay”. However, being the strong-willed lady she is, she might choose to interpret them as friendly suggestions if she’s in the middle of something more interesting... like chasing squirrels! She’s a bit shy around unfamiliar dogs and prefers calm introductions, but she’s not aggressive—just cautious and a little particular about her circle of friends.

Lexi thrives on companionship and would love a home where someone is around for most of the day. She does just fine being left alone for short periods, usually watching the world go by from the patio door or curling up for a snooze. Her dream family includes a safe fenced yard for little squirrel chases, a warm lap to claim as her own, and gentle caregivers who appreciate both her affectionate side and her occasional streak of independence.
