Maverick

Meet Maverick, a charming four-month-old German Shepherd, Boxer, and Rottweiler mix from San Marcos, CA, whose spirit is a beautiful blend of playful energy, gentle affection, and sweet puppy curiosity wrapped in a sleek black and tan coat!

Weighing in at just 14 pounds for now (with an expected adult weight of around 30 pounds), Maverick may be small, but his heart is already enormous. This little guy is all about forming deep bonds with his people—he’s the cuddly type who loves nothing more than snuggling close, especially in the car where he’ll melt you by gently resting his head on your shoulder like the loyal co-pilot he is.

Maverick is still discovering the big world around him, and while new faces might make him a bit nervous at first, he warms up quickly with kindness and a few gentle pets. Once he feels safe, his goofy, playful side shines through—whether it’s a game of tug-of-war, an enthusiastic round of fetch, or just cruising the neighborhood on a walk! He’s also a big fan of beach days, dog park adventures, or anything that gives him a chance to run and explore by your side.

Like many young pups, Maverick is a work in progress and needs a patient and loving environment that can offer gentle guidance, especially when it comes to building confidence and learning more commands. He’s already picked up "sit" and "come," and with his eagerness to please (and maybe a treat or two), he’s bound to thrive with positive reinforcement and consistency.

Maverick is house-trained, fully up to date on vaccinations, and gets his teeth brushed every night—how’s that for a good boy? He’s happiest when he’s near his people and will whine a bit when left alone, so a home where someone is often around—or can ease him into solo time—would be a great fit.

Are you ready to welcome this sweet, snuggly shadow into your life and show him just how wonderful the world can be? Reach out today and find out how you can bring Maverick home for a life filled with loyalty, kisses, and adventure!
