Meet LC (short for Little Cat), a dainty one-year-old Dilute Calico mix from Del Valle, TX, whose shy spirit and sweet quirks make her a tender-hearted companion for someone with a little extra patience and a whole lot of love to give.
LC is a tiny treasure at just 10 pounds, with a soft, smoky patchwork coat of silver and orange that catches the light in the most beautiful way. As a single kitten raised without siblings, LC didn’t have the usual littermate rough-and-tumble to build confidence, so she’s a bit more nervous in new situations. But with gentle consistency, she begins to trust—and that’s when the magic happens.
Though initially tense when picked up, LC slowly melts into a puddle of calm with enough gentle pettings, especially if you know the trick: back scratches. She arches into them with total joy, as if she’s been waiting all day for that exact moment. She’s litter-trained and has no known medical concerns, though she does fall into the “special needs” category simply because she requires an experienced, understanding caregiver who will let her move at her own pace.
LC is playful in her own quiet way. She’s especially fond of feather teasers and rattle balls, and one of her cutest quirks is how she climbs in and out of her crate like a little monkey, a combination of curiosity and caution that’s uniquely her! She’s vocal too—not in a loud or demanding way, but she’ll talk to you in soft, expressive meows when she’s feeling safe and settled.
Because of her timid nature, LC is best suited to an indoor-only life with someone experienced with shy cats. She’s not very confident around other cats and would likely thrive as the only feline in the home. A calm, quiet space with a patient, financially stable guardian is exactly the kind of love story she’s hoping to begin.
A voucher is available through Travis County Emancipet to have LC spayed and support her continued care.
