Cooper is a 5-year-old Husky who is extremely loving, protective, energetic, and goofy. He gets along with everyone he meets, including children, and always wants to be loved by new people. Cooper loves to spend his days running around the yard playing with toys, going on walks and hikes, and watching over and protecting his home and owner. He is not aggressive, but he does make sure to alert us by barking or howling if anyone is on the property. Cooper needs a home where he can be a full-time best friend to his human, as well as the Alpha dog of the home. His protective nature makes him want to be the Alpha animal of the family, so he should not be with another Alpha-type dog, as this could cause aggression. He would thrive with an owner who enjoys being active and outdoors. He needs someone to go on hikes, walks, car rides, or dog park trips with. Unfortunately, we do not have the time to give him the things he needs to constructively get out his playful energy.

Has your dog ever shown any challenging behaviors, such as biting a person or another pet? If so, please share some context.:
Cooper has gotten into fights with our other male dog, because he has an Alpha mentality. He needs to be the Alpha animal of the home, and if another male tries to take that Alpha position, it causes Cooper to fight them. We do not recommend having Cooper with other male dogs in the home.

Cooper needs to be brushed once a week when he is shedding his winter or summer coat. He needs to be groomed every 2-3 months to help with the undercoat that builds up.

No male dogs, active owner that enjoys walks and hiking/ being outdoors, a fenced in yard, an owner that will be dedicated to giving Cooper the time he needs.
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?:
Cooper has high energy due to his breed, so he has to have ways to constructively and safely get that energy out. Playing with him in the yard with a tennis ball can make a world of difference.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?:
Schedule, No Time
Details about rehoming reason (if needed):
We no longer have the time to give Cooper the attention he requires. Taking him on walks and going to the dog park are basically a requirement for Cooper, and we do not have the means to constantly provide him with outlets for his energy. He often acts depressed because he feels cooped up in his current home. He has also attacked our other male dog multiple times in an attempt to get him to submit to him. Having two Alpha-type dogs has caused huge problems and put them in danger.
