Need a new home by 6/10/2025
I need to relocate and I am unable to take the dogs with me. Gus is a beagle, approx. 5 years old, almost 6. He showed up on our porch about 5 years ago (they estimated he was about 6 months old) with a seriously injured right front paw, that had to be amputated. He is neutered. He is so loving, high energy, loves walks - but not long ones as he gets tired on the 3 legs.

He showed up on our porch in subzero temperatures. He followed me right into the house. Since he was injured and obviously under nourished, we took him in. We could not locate and owner and sought medical care for him. He later needed his front leg amputated as a result of the injury he showed up with.

He is in a crate whenever I leave because he will tear something up.

Being left alone, that is why he goes in the crate.

He wakes up growling sometimes, but you say, Gus and he stops. He pushes out the chairs to climb on the table and I had to get a trashcan that he cannot open or chew apart.

Trimming is about once a month and he's mostly inside, so bathing is every couple months - he does well in a tub or shower.

He is the most loving and cuddly dog. He is so happy just cuddling with you. And, he's pretty cute.

Gus does well with other dogs once he gets to know them, especially female dogs (usually annoys them because he wants their attention). Gus does well with children, but likes to jump on people. He warms up quickly to people once he knows you're ok with them, otherwise, he may bark at them (not always though).

Gus does like to climb and he can chew things if he gets it. He's a beagle so he loves food - any food!
