Birch

Birch is a 6 year old Sealpoint Siamese. My family adopted her in 2021 from a foster family. She was a stray cat previously and was found on a porch in south Philly looking for a warm place to sleep. We don’t know much about her history before that but assume she lived on the streets until then.

Birch is a very sweet cat that loves attention. She’s very playful and friendly. She loves to roll over and have her belly pet. She’s never standoffish and will take as much attention as she can get. She loves to cuddle and sleep with people. She’s the kind of cat that wouldn’t hurt a fly. She’s not super agile and likely won’t jump up and knock over anything. The highest she can make it is up to my bed.

She’s playful and loves to chase toys. We think she would do well with other cats but haven’t had the chance to introduce her to other friendly cats.

Even though she grew up as a stray she makes a great indoor cat. As long as she has a companion she is as happy as a clam, but does enjoy to go outside to explore (with someone outside watching her). She is not a scrappy cat though and would not do well as an outdoor cat.

Something to be aware of: she gets hyper around 5am and may try to wake you up to play, an automatic feeder might take care of this to distract her. She is super affectionate and just wants to play, but haven’t been able to train her yet that this is the time when we sleep.

My family has loved Birch since we got her and she means a lot to us. Unfortunately my dad’s allergies have gotten too bad to handle which is why we are looking to rehome her. We’re hoping we can find someone who will love her as much as we have and a home that possibly has other cats she can play with. She has been spayed is up to date on all of her shots and vet appointments.
