Sinder

Gentle Giant Needs a New Home
Sinder is an 8-year-old, 110 lb Labradoodle looking for a new home. He’s a sweet, loyal dog we’ve known since he was a puppy. A few years ago, we took him in after a friend was going to put him down due to an incident involving a family cat and another dog. Since being with us, he’s been a great companion.

He’s calm, affectionate, loves to sleep, and does very well with our 8-year-old child. However, we recently brought home a very small puppy (7 lbs), and Sinder has been aggressive toward her. For everyone’s safety, we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome him.

Sinder may be fine with other medium or large dogs, but he cannot be in a home with cats or small animals.

He’s house-trained, up to date on shots, and enjoys a relaxed, quiet environment. He does require grooming every 1–2 months (around $100 per session), so please consider that in your decision.

If you or someone you know is experienced with large dogs and can offer him a safe, appropriate home, please reach out.

Several years ago, the owners came home to find that their family cat had been killed. Sinder and another dog were both in the home at the time. The other dog was known to be more predatory, so it’s unclear exactly what happened, but it’s believed Sinder may have been involved. Since then, he’s shown no signs of aggression toward people, but he has recently growled and nipped at our very small puppy (7 lbs), which is why we believe he should not be placed in a home without cats or small animals. He has done well with medium and large dogs in the past.
