Red is a 13-year-old blue nose pitbull with a heart full of love and a youthful spirit that defies his age. Healthy, affectionate, and full of personality, Red is looking for a forever home where he can spend his golden years being someone's loyal sidekick.
Red is house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows his basic commands. He’s lived peacefully with infants and young children in the past and has experience being around dogs of all sizes. However, because he can be protective of his toys and food, Red would thrive best as the only dog in a calm, child-free home.
Don’t let his age fool you—Red is still full of energy! He loves going for walks, playing fetch, and riding in the car. Whether it's a cozy nap on the couch or a scenic hike, Red is happiest when he's by your side. He’s a champion snuggler and adores being around people.
Red does experience some separation anxiety, so he’s best suited for someone who is home a lot or is able to take him with them. After a good walk, he can be left alone for about 3–4 hours. On rare occasions when he needs to be alone longer, a vet-approved dose of Trazodone helps him stay calm. He doesn’t like being physically separated by crates or gates, so when you’re home but need space, it’s best if he can be in a room where he can’t see you.
Red has so much love to give and is ready to be your loyal companion. If you're looking for a sweet, devoted senior dog to share your life with, Red might just be the perfect match.
