GINGER WAS FOUND BY A NEIGHBOR AS A STRAY DOG. THAT NEIGHBOR COULD NOT KEEP HER AND DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD FOR WEEKS TO SEARCH FOR HER FAMILY, WITHOUT SUCCESS. SINCE NO ONE CAME FORWARD, SHE HAD POSTED ON OUR NEIGHBORHOOD FACEBOOK SITE THAT GINGER WOULD BE DROPPED OFF AT THE SHELTER. WHEN I SAW HER PHOTO ON THE SITE, I KNEW SHE WOULD LIKELY BE AT RISK FOR BEING EUTHANIZED, AND SO I BROUGHT HER HOME TO FOSTER. WE ALREADY HAD TWO SMALL DOGS (ONE WAS AT THE END OF LIFE AT AGE 17, AND THE OTHER IS ALSO A SENIOR DOG), AND I ALSO HAVE THREE SMALL CHILDREN. WHEN MY OLDER SENIOR DOG PASSED AWAY, OUR OTHER SENIOR DOG BECAME QUITE DEPRESSED, AND GINER REALLY HELPED HIM IN THAT TRANSITION PERIOD. GINGER IS WONDERFUL WITH THE KIDS, EVEN THE TODDLER. SHE ALSO LOVES ALL DOGS, THOUGH CAN PLAY ROUGH DUE TO HER STRENGTH. SHE WOULD FIT BEST WITH A FAMILY WITH BIGGER DOG(S), AND AN OWNER WHO DOESN'T MIND WALKING HER THROUGHOUT THE DAY TO GET HER ENERGY OUT. SHE LOVES CUDDLES AND NEEDS TO SLEEP ON THE BED WITH HER OWNER. OUR FAMILY IS GOING THROUGH A TOUGH TIME RIGHT NOW, WITH A NEW MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS AND AN UPCOMING SURGERY, AND I DO NOT HAVE THE MENTAL OR PHYSICAL FORTITUDE TO CONTINUE TO CARE FOR GINGER IN THE WAY SHE DESERVES, ESPECIALLY WITH ALSO CARING FOR MY 3 SMALL CHILDREN. I'M GLAD THAT I SAVED HER FROM BEING AT THE SHELTERS, AND AM HOPING TO CONTINUE TO AVOID THAT. SHE DESERVES MORE THAN THAT.
