Chai

Chai was brought home by my 14 year old granddaughter, who rescued 2 infant kittens from being drowned. She and her sister have lived in my home almost 7 years. My granddaughter moved and left them with me. Chai was playful with her sister when younger, now is sometimes territorial. She used to sleep next to my dog, who was almost 18 and who died recently. She seemed confused and sad that her friend was gone, slept in the same place. Chai is affectionate, likes to sit in an armchair next to me. Used to sleep on my bed but I'm committing to a new partner who is allergic to cats. Chai is smart and very vocal, will mew for attention, tells time very well (4:00 supper, is fed once a day but can wait if I'm out late, just sleeps.) She didn't used to like brushing, but now will tolerate a stroke or two with a fine brush. Loves to have her head rubbed. She will ask to be picked up, then let you know when is enough, may bat a paw with a claw, but warns you first - "enough!"
