Maya is likely a German Shepherd/Husky mix. She is a sweet and affectionate girl that acts like a puppy. She is very smart with lot of energy, and requires physical and mental stimulation 2-3 times per day.
Maya was adopted from a shelter in June with unknown history. Unfortunately, due to family health issues and older resident dog's reactivity, it is best for Maya to be rehomed so she can live her best life.
Maya loves to play fetch with a ball and will bring it back to you with "bring it to me" or "give". She also loves a tug game with a squeaky plush. Maya would thrive in a home with a yard as she loves to run and explore. She would do best with active owners, seasoned dog owners, or owners with flexible work schedule. Ideal housemate would be another dog that is nonreactive, knows how to play with dogs, and matches high energy.
Maya is spayed, fully vaccinated (rabies, bordetella, DHLPP), on Bravecto, and microchipped. She had a flu vaccine and will be due for booster soon. Recent health visit showed Maya as a healthy 3-year old dog. Her only dietary need is eating 2-3 times per day.
She knows how to play fetch, sit, come, out/in, and waits to eat on command: "sit", "come", "out", "in", "bring to me" (fetch), "ok, eat" (sits until told can eat). She also knows how to give her paws as a greeting with hand gestured out, but unknown which verbal command corresponds to this. Maya may be house-trained as she only does her business in the yard in a measured space and does not chew on furniture. Maya has visited the groomers and was given outstanding behavior ratings for bath, brush, and nail trimming.
Maya does not know "down" and does not know her name because she was recently adopted. She struggles with recall and will need training as she is prone to run off leash. Maya also pulls during walks, but has shown improvement with amateur training.
Maya requires training, energy outlets, and plenty of snacks and food.
