Hi I’m Willow, before my beautiful name was given to me they once called me 50 cent. My first year of life I was tied up, causing a scar around my neck, and then kept in a small kennel, where I lived out most of my year of life, sitting, eating, and sleeping in my own feces & urine. I scare easily towards strangers, and I’m protective of my house and the humans who rescued me out of my old home. My rescuers saved my sister and brother too, my brother was adopted using this site and I’m hoping I get to find my forever home on here too. I want you to know that I am a strong, creature, I am a distemper survivor, and I lost my puppies, due to this awful disease. I am full of ambition, curiosity, love, and energy. I currently live with 4 senior dogs, who tolerate me, but I happen to fight with one of my sisters especially around food. I would do best in a single dog home, with older kids, & gentle, understanding, patient, one of a kind, big hearted parents who doesn’t see the flaws in me but can see potential in me, and can see what a great forever heart dog I can be. I am extremely cuddly once my trust towards you has been established. I do have a tendency to jump/climb on counters to see what snacks you have “left out for me.” Once I was Locked in the house & I forced my way out of the screen window. I do need consistent training, positive reinforcement and affection. Please don’t let my once rough lifestyle turn you down from getting to know me, I might be shy at first but I have an amazing personality, I love to explore, and sleep close by to my foster parents, I loooveeee walks.
Right now my foster parents are helping me build my confidence with a dog trainer. I’m trying really hard to get it right, I’m not a bad dog, but a good dog that came from a rough background and now I’m learning what love is and roaming around in a yard feels like. Please give me a chance at life being your only dog, scarfing up all the affection too I so badly deserve.
