Teddy

Calm, Sweet 6-Year-Old Dog Needs a Cat-Free Forever Home – San Diego

Hi everyone,

We’re looking to rehome Teddy, and while this decision is incredibly hard, we know it’s what’s best for him.

Teddy is about 6 years old, very calm, shy, and gentle with people. We took him in from previous owners who could no longer care for him this past late May. We were hoping to give him a fresh start in a loving and adventurous home. In many ways, he’s been a wonderful companion — easygoing, affectionate, obedient and low-maintenance.

Unfortunately, Teddy does not do well with cats. We have a cat in our home, and despite giving it time, Teddy has shown repeated signs of aggression, including a few incidents of attacking. It’s not fair to either of them, and it’s become clear that Teddy needs a cat-free household to feel at peace and safe.

✨ About Teddy:
• Age: ~6 years
• Size: Large
• Temperament: Calm, quiet, and a bit shy at first — but warms up with time and patience
• Health: Up to date on all vaccinations (vet visit 6/14), no known major issues
• Notes: He drools a bit and has a minor eye condition we were hoping to manage with vet care
• Neutered: Yes

Ideal Home for Teddy:
• No cats or small animals
• A calm environment with people who understand shy dogs
• Possibly someone experienced with rescue dogs or dogs who need a little extra space to adjust.

Teddy deserves a peaceful, stable forever home where he can truly thrive. He does extremely well with young kids. If you or someone you know might be the right fit, please message me. I’m happy to answer questions or set up a meet-and-greet.

Thank you for helping us do right by Teddy.
