We’ve had our sweet Maze since she was a baby. We love her so deeply which is why we are finding her a home where she can feel truly happy and safe.
Over the past couple years she’s been attacked at random by dogs in passing and one of the girls from our pack (who has since passed away) for about a year and a half, to make a long story short.
She recently took it upon herself to then attack another dog in our pack, brutally, they both needed an ER visit. I know that it comes from a place of trauma and being in a constant state of fight or flight because she is NOT aggressive. That cannot be overstated. We won’t be doing the “keep them separate” thing like we did with the last one. Happy to go in to more detail if needed.
Now for the amazing things about this girl!! She is SO sweet and loves to cuddle. She’s incredibly smart and good on a leash. All she wants in life is love and snacks and truthfully i think more structure! She loves toys but at current can’t have them around our other dogs as she constantly feels she need to protect her resources. I think the perfect home for her would be one where she’s an only dog, I think after time to adjust she’d be amazing with cats as she really does love companionship and cats may feel safe for her. She’d do better with older kids who can understand boundaries better than a toddler and are able to follow rules about fog safety etc. She will need time to decompress, but I know once the trust is built and you show her love consistently and she can truly feel safe she will blossom and be the best dog you’ve ever had.
