A loving boy who is simply not cut out for city life
Chuckie has been with me since he’s 13 weeks old. I got him from a breeder in Tennessee. I have reached out to her to discuss returning Chuckie to her, but unfortunately she is very sick and no longer breeding. I am facing multiple health issues and I am having a hard time caring for my boy. He’s a quirky one who loves belly rubs, sniffing on long walks, investigating any new smells, loves challenging games like snuffle mats or find it. He’s extremely smart and catches on to commands quickly. Only downside is he is anxious in loud and busy environments. I live in an apartment in Queens, NY and his anxiety and NYC living don’t mesh well. His new home would be a calm, low-traffic household with no children- their quick movements startle him. I think a home rather than apartment would be best. I share my building entrance/exit with over 40 people and that can be a little overwhelming for him.
I worked from home the last 4 years so he’s not used to be home alone for long periods of time. I’m currently working with him to help him slowly adjust to being home alone.
Overall, he’s a sweetheart in the right environment and an extremely loyal boy. He does need time to warm up to some strangers. He picks and chooses who he’ll click with right away. For example, his new vet gave him a few treats after he barked at her for a few minutes. Within 3 mins, they were BFF.
