Has your dog ever shown any challenging behaviors, such as biting a person or another pet? If so, please share some context.:
Yes. A few years ago someone she didn't know entered our back yard while she was in it -- she was barking at them warning them not to come in but they continued to enter through the gate and she bit them on the arm once, leaving a puncture wound. Then a few months ago our next door neighbor was standing outside our front door. My spouse opened the door to talk to them and was holding our baby. Jasmine pushed past and jumped up and bit our neighbor on the arm and left a puncture wound. The circumstances of my spouse holding the baby may have led her to act protectively and also my spouse wasn't able to stop it with the baby there whereas otherwise she could have blocked her from getting out.
How often does your dog require grooming (e.g., bathing, brushing, trimming)? :
Weekly brushing; it's very difficult /impossible to trim her nails due to her anxiety

She is so snuggly and cuddly and affectionate once you've earned her trust
What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?:
It is important that the new person/family can be confident/assertive alpha/pack leader. We have found that Jasmine does best when she feels like her human is in charge and she doesn't need to protect anyone or be on guard. She gets along better with confident/not anxious dogs. She is well trained and obedient; sometimes her anxiety gets in her way and she thinks she needs to protect us when she doesn't. We have worked with a vet behaviorist and she is on anti anxiety meds that have helped but she still needs a dog owner who can take charge so she doesn't feel she has to.
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?:
She is okay with some dogs but not others. We have a second dog who she gets along with well.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?:
Baby/Child Safety
Details about rehoming reason (if needed):
We have a 1 year old baby who she has increasingly shown aggression to despite our efforts to separate them. The baby seems to have increased her overall anxiety and protection instincts towards us as well hence the recent bite.
If applicable, do you have the legal right or necessary permission from the breeder or rescue organization to rehome this pet? :
Not Applicable
Yes
How long will you be able to keep your pet before you may need to consider surrendering him or her to a rescue?:
Not an option, my pet will stay with me for as long as it takes
