Hello! This is Brutus and he needs a forever home. We’ve been fostering him after saving him from going to the shelter after his owner passed away.
He is the sweetest guy. We just can’t keep long term since we rent. We did take him to the vet to get him up to date on his shots and make sure he was fixed (he is fully vaccinated and neutered). We learned he does have FIV (which makes him more sensitive to infections). We gave him a sanitary shave since he was so badly matted.
He is completely litter trained and he doesn’t scratch anything. We’ve had him here for a couple of months and we’ve been hiding him in our back room but you can tell he’s getting lonely.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?:
Someone who has the time to give him lots of snuggles. He was terribly matted when we first got him and he was a bit shy at first. Once we got him shaved, he was an entirely different cat. He is such a sweet guy and needs someone who will give him all of the loves. He lost his best friend and you can tell he’s got a missing hole in his little heart.
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?:
We wish we could keep him ourselves. It’s just not something we can make work with our family. We have another cat who is extremely unfriendly to other cats. We took Brutus with the intention of just being his foster family. We fell in love with him and wish our cat was a bit more friendly. Brutus has showed no signs of aggression towards our cat. It is our cat who has been hissing and scratching.
